What is the spiritual meaning of Aquamarine? Throughout history, many civilizations have used Aquamarine as a protective or lucky charm. When translated, Aquamarine means “water of the sea”. Its name comes from Latin, and it was named by Roman fishermen. Because it’s part of a Beryl family of minerals, aquamarine is found in beautiful, symmetrical hexagonal shapes, with either a light, almost transparent blue color, or a deep rich blue color like the sea.įormed into the deep layers of Mother Earth, most commonly around mountains, Aquamarine is formed when magma heats up mineral rocks called pegmatite. Shimmering Aquamarine is a crystal that when discovered in its natural state looks mesmerizing. That’s why today I will share with you the benefits of the beautiful aquamarine and everything you need to know about it! Not only was Aquamarine one of the first crystals I picked up to work with, but it’s also the crystal than helped me the most to restore my inner peace in my everyday life. And it worked! Although there are many different crystals that have a specific purpose, my all-time favorite crystal is Aquamarine. That’s how I discovered crystal healing and started to work with different crystals. That’s why in the last few years, I was determined to find a way to restore my inner peace, even in the midst of everyday insanity. However, in the busy life I lead, and I’m sure you lead a busy life too, it’s very hard to find your inner peace. I often find myself wanting to be as calm and as relaxed as I am when I visit the sea. Some meditators choose to conclude with a prayer, a blessing, a bow, or any closure you see fit for your practice.Have you ever noticed how calm you feel when you are near the sea or the ocean? That feeling of calmness, increasing with each wave is one of the best sensations that I have experienced. Whether you set the soft bell of a timer or naturally feel your meditation is complete, gently return to your surroundings. If you feel yourself slipping out of focus, redirect your attention to the body by visualizing and experiencing your flow of breath. That's why yogis use pranayama, or breathing technique, to focus their energy into their whole being. Prana, or life force, is quite literally the energetic flow of the universe in your body. You are simply allowing yourself to be present and attuned. We do not define right or wrong thought process here. It is important to acknowledge a thought as "there," but to let it pass, like flipping channels on a television, or watching a set of waves wash in from the ocean. Interruptive thoughts are natural as we begin to meditate. If the you are sensitive to sensory overload try ear plugs or soft instrumental music. Your dog may be barking, or the street cleaner sweeping. Your mind may be calling out to you about a pinched nerve in your back, or the appointment you have later this afternoon. Allow your thoughts to wash through you.Your gaze should not feel forced, but rather soft and relaxed. Direct your view towards your chosen item. Find your drishti (Sanskrit), a gaze, your point of attention.Immerse yourself in the space free of distraction. Make sure you use props, cushions, or any sort of physical assistance to keep you comfortable in the moment. Throughout this meditation, your head should be held in a neutral posture in relation to your body. Place this object in a comfortable plain of view. The programming is complete when you feel it is complete. You should feel a sense of harmony once the crystal is successfully programmed. For example, "I dedicate this crystal to bring joy into my life and those around me." Some programming examples include recitations of "love," "tranquility," "fertility," "clairvoyance," "equanimity." You may also recite variations. You can recite your intention outloud, whisper, or mentally sound your intention. You might feel an electrical surge through your arms as you do this. Gaze at your crystal, direct your energetic intention towards it.Hold the crystal in your dominant hand or both hands (as I like to do) and neutralize your mind and energy.I prefer smudging my crystals with sage or bathing them in salt water baths under moonlight or sunlight. Make sure your crystal is energetically neutral (see resources below on how to cleanse your crystal). Below is a basic step-by-step method for programming: How do you program it? Programming your crystal is much like setting an intention.
